  • Periyar  Wildlife Sanctuary ( Wildlife): Situated on the banks of the Periyar  River, the wildlife sanctuary is spread over 777 square kilometres. Periyar is the only sanctuary in India where you can spot exotic animals at close range from a boat. As you cruise down the river, you can watch elephants taking a drink in the river or a tiger stalking its prey, lion tailed monkeys in the trees and even the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
